The Adventures of Tintin was my first project at Weta Digital. I was on Wayne Stables’ (excellent!) team and was responsible for lighting, shader tweaks, rendering, and shot finaling. I got to work on Tintin’s apartment, the interior of the Karaboudjan, the Bagghar market, and the long Bagghar chase sequence at the end.
This film was very challenging as a lot of the technology was new to me (and everyone) and some of the crowd and city shots were very heavy to render. Spielberg also really pushed us to get the lighting right and I learned a lot through the whole process.
